Sewing has been in my life since I can remember. My mom made elaborate costumes for me when I was 5. She sewed my sister’s wedding dress. I could always do repairs and simple projects.

I didn’t focus on quilting until I was 40. By then, I had served in the Marine Corps, graduated college, had a career and 2 babies. I soon added 4 step kids and a few pets. I started small but as the kids got bigger, so did my passion for quilting.

I can’t tell you what type of quilting I like the most. I enjoy trying all the techniques and often shift from one to the other and back again. You can see this in the variety of techniques and moods in my quilts.

When not quilting (or embroidering), I am searching for a new adventure. I like cycling, mountain biking, rock climbing and learned to ski a few years ago.

Thanks for visiting my page and helping my quilts begin their journey to their new home!

Sincerely, Vanasa Petersen

Why “SewEnV”? My husband calls me V so he thought it was a good play on “sewing V” and a little envy of my talents. He’s a great cheerleader!
